James Blake and Travis Scott mesh like a beautiful haunting..
UK alternative genre-blending singer/songwriter James Blake who really can't claim a genre due to his vast array of musical blends is back with his first single "Mile High" off his upcoming album Assume Form. With a gradient sound that spans from R&B, soul, alternative, electronic, jazz to shades of rock, James Blake dips his toes in hip-hop tapping Travis Scott and producer Metro Boomin for his first release of Assume Form. The album title could be a jab at the music industry demanding a certain sound when James Blake never really assumes form, but really shape shifts sonically. The drugged-out feel to "Mile High" responds beautifully to James Blake tone that welcomes you into their lethargic haunting. Shortly after the release of "Mile High," James Blake let go of his second single "Lullaby For My Insomniac," which shows Blake in a similar light and familiar sound we heard in his 2016 album, The Colour in Anything. Assume Form is out tomorrow January 17th and in addition to Travis and Metro features ROSALIA, Andre 3000 and Moses Sumney. Get ready for a 12-track masterpiece arriving tomorrow.
