A honest and beautifully vulnerable duet..
Joe Purdy is one of those musicians that believes in the simplicity of music whose sound is characterized by his sincere voice and soft guitar chords. Folk is the genre of telling stories in the most vulnerable form and that's exactly what the Arkansas musician did with his latest single, "Someone Singing with Me." The track takes you back to simpler times making capitalist idealogies silly in the face of passion. What's a simple and beautifully harmonized duet by Joe Purdy and Amber Rubarth, is also the leading single off their upcoming and must-see movie titled, American Folk.
The soundtrack for the film is slated to release January 26th while the movie will see a theatrical release on the same date according to IMDb. The soundtrack is made up of 19 tracks featuring a variety of folk singers in addition to Joe and Amber. The award-winning film is about two folk singers (starring Joe Purdy and Amber Rubarth) who get stranded in California in wake of the 9/11 attacks who then decide to road trip to New York together; discovering adventure, love and the beauty behind folk music on the way.
