This Vancouver wave is here to stay..
Vancouver duo MANILA GREY have been at it for more than a minute and finally their hustle is starting to pay off in a big way. They have quickly identified as the next duo to come out of the Hip-Hop/R&B wave that's been pouring out of Canadian music and now Vancouver. I would compare their wavy sound to the new XO duo out of Toronto called 88GLAM. Manila Grey's singing raps are as flashy as the black Mercedes in their latest video for their 2017 track "Timezones." Off their 2017 EP No Saints Under Palm Shade, the visuals for "Timezones" already has over 50,000 views in 3 days and shows no sign of slowing down. Manila Grey was formed by childhood friends Neeko and Soliven who both linked up with producer azel north for the dark lavish production that has now become their signature sound. Along with their new video, their latest single "Friends of Friends" is creating even more buzz for the duo, which you can find here. Watch their visuals for "Timezones" below or stream it straight on Spotify. "Timezones" is also featured on our City Soundcheck playlist via Spotify where you'll find new Rap/Hip-Hop/R&B everyday.
You can catch Manila Grey live at the first annual Breakout Festival on June 9th-10th at the PNE Amphitheatre. Single day tickets will be available soon, which you can find more details here.
