Amidst the cold Montreal winter there's "Something Sweet"..
Montreal-based singer-songwriter RAVEN has been steadily releasing covers for some time now, covering artists such as Daniel Caesar, Vance Joy, Childish Gambino, The Head and the Heart and especially whom I believe serves as one of her biggest inspirations, Norah Jones. Putting the covers behind her and amidst the cold Montreal Winter approaching, RAVEN releases her debut single "Something Sweet." The track is a Montreal-based collab between RAVEN and musician/producer/engineer FabJ. Think Norah Jones and Snoh Aalegra while also bringing forth a style reminiscent to Julia Stone. Her tranquil jazzy sound and soulful delivery backed by the sweet, sweet saxophone set the stage for a lit fireplace/cold night type vibe. RAVEN's "Something Sweet" isn't that typical pop release straight from a production software we are so tired of hearing, but really a singer focused on the craft and melodic cohesion of her work. Expect more music from RAVEN because man it's going to be a long winter and you know we'll need it to get through it.
