The Shins – Heartworms

7.5/10

You are going to want to catch these guys this summer on tour with their first album released since 2012. An 11-track album will be the centre of the party in this summer's festival season. The album opens up with the catchy track 'Name For You,' which is an ode of empowerment to women taking away the value of stereotypical names girls are given. That track sets the vibe for a very positive album that seems to celebrate and question the meaning of life like in the track 'Fantasy Island.' It takes a psychedelic route down philosophical questions on life in 'Half a Million,' but The Shins keep it light at the same time releasing an album that can be celebrated again and again.

The Shins will be performing at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre May 27th, get tickets here..
